Parade of Flags
Be proud of your heritage and join the parade! The parade will kick off at noon in the Ethiopian Cultural Garden, travels south, passing the Centennial Peace Plaza, and ends at the Lithuanian Cultural Garden.
Large groups of 20 or more should march in rows of 5-10 instead of 1-2 per row. Groups larger than 50 should march in rows of 10s.
Immediately after the Parade of Flags, gather at the Centennial Peace Plaza for the Opening Ceremony and then distinguished performances.
This year’s One World Day celebrates the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the impact that immigrants have made on the nation.
The 250th milestone is an opportunity to pause and reflect on our nation’s achievements and to honor the contributions of generations of people who came to the U.S. to pursue the American Dream. During One World Day, you can visit booths in the individual cultural gardens that will feature three people from that culture who have added their talents to the success of America.
This educational presentation is offered in collaboration with America 250-Ohio, the commission that has been preparing commemorations of the 250th anniversary in Ohio.
This activity encourages kids and their families to visit individual gardens to learn about different cultures.
